2. WebQuest: Prophets
This webquest was designed for students in Year 6 in the Maitland-Newcastle Diocese [Catholic Schools Office] studying the Prophets in Stage 3 New South Wales (NSW) Australia. This webquest challenges students to investigate what is a message, what is a prophet, Hebrew Scriptures or Old Testament Prophets - Isaiah, Malachi, Zechariah, Jeremiah, Haggai, Ezekiel, Zephaniah, Daniel, Habakkuk, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Lamentations, Nahum, Baruch and to investigate whether there have been prophets in Australia in our history or today. Students are to research the lives of Sr. Elizabeth Kenny, John Laws, Sheila Cassidy, Ian Kiernan, Dr. Faith Bandler, Allan Jones, Eddie Mabo, Peter Garrett, Richard Pratt, Dawn Casey, Fr. Chris Riley, Dame Roma Mitchell, Tim Costello, Gough Whitlam, Michael Leunig, Edith Cowan, Neville Bonner, Dr. Helen Caldicott, Mary MacKillop, Julian Tenison Woods, Fred Hollows, Dame Enid Lyons, Lowjita (Lois) O'Donoghue, Sir William Deane, Professor Fiona Stanley, John Flynn, Eva Burrows and Sir Edward " Weary" Dunlop. Students are to investigate an issue and "become a prophet" themselves."
