Commemorating Julian Tenison Woods
7th October
On 7 October we celebrate the anniversary of the
death of
Julian Edmond Tenison Woods, cofounder, with Mary MacKillop,
of the Sisters of St Joseph.
"A strong fibre of
loving trust ran through the skein of Julian Woods' life experience as
it unwound in ever-changing colours of light and sombre tone. His
varying achievements as a priest, a scientist, an author, an explorer
and as a man of prayer make his career fascinating almost to the point
of extravagance. Add to this an ingenuous lovableness which gave
simple charm to his personality and you have an engaging character in
an extraordinary setting."

Loving God,
thank you for the memory
of this gentle, joyful and forgiving priest
who faithfully walked in your presence
in the steps of Jesus your Son.

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, forever and ever. Amen.
