WHAT WE DO
‘We seek to
remain open to present and emerging needs…
(Constitutions p 7)
Our Founder
encouraged us never to see an evil without trying to remedy it, so
Sisters of St Joseph use their energies to assist people wherever
they can in whatever they need.
For over a century sisters in this region ran schools to help bring
quality education to ordinary people, thus opening up opportunities
for a better standard of living, but also spreading the spiritual
values on which a fulfilled life is based.
Today, Sisters of St. Joseph can be found ministering with people in
a variety of ways including: pastoral roles in schools; within the
Catholic Schools Office; as counsellors and psychologists; as
tertiary teachers, especially in the area of Theology and Scripture;
in
retreats
and Spiritual Direction; in parishes; in bereavement ministry; in
legal work; in adult faith formation; in pastoral ministry in
hospitals, on housing estates, in prisons, with refugees and various
forms of community support.
In all situations we hope to be present as the face of Christ.
Therefore we focus on the sacredness of the human person with
reverence for their culture and respect for the earth which we have
been given in trust.
