What We Do

Tenison Woods Education Centre

Administration Board

The Administrative Board of the Centre is appointed by the Congregational Leader of the Sisters of St. Joseph. The Board is responsible for stewarding the resources needed for the Centre’s ministry and overseeing promotion and programming according to the spirit and mission of the Congregation.  These responsibilities are specified in its statutes.

To undertake its ministry effectively, the Board is conscious of its need for ongoing formation in the spirit and mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph.  At the beginning of 2007, Board members packed their bags and journeyed to the Centre for a weekend entitled ‘Board Matters’.  They were joined by the TWEC staff, Teresa Brierley, Vice Chancellor, Pastoral Ministries in the Diocese of Maitland Newcastle and Srs Patricia and Maureen from the Leadership Team of the Sisters of St. Joseph.  This mix brought a variety of perspectives and wisdom to the overall work of the week-end which was Strategic Planning.

The weekend began with an immersion in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph with the help of Sr Patricia, the Congregational Leader,  in the TWEC Story with the help of Colleen and Maureen, and in the vision and values at the heart of the TWEC ministry with Lynette.  This formed the context for the work of Strategic Planning.

One of the Board’s most enjoyable works is the organisation of the Annual TWEC Dinner

The 2008 Annual Report outlines the recent work of the Board and the ministry of the Centre.
