The 2008 TWEC Dinner
was held on Friday 23rd May at the Therry Centre East
Maitland. It took World Youth Day as its focus and reached out to
invite the participation of young adults.
The dinner was attended by 180 people who gathered to enjoy good
company over a wonderful meal prepared by Robert Rampling and his
staff, to support the ministry of the Tenison Woods Education
Centre, and to listen to the speaker for the night, Jenni Winters.
Jenni ministers with the Australian Province of the Jesuits as
Formation and Program Director for MAGiS08, the Jesuit World
Youth Day program. Here topic for the evening was
‘One Young
Person’s World Youth Day Story’. Jenni was an inspiring and
challenging speaker, highlighting with great passion and honesty her
insights into the WYD experience, and her hopes for how it might
impact on the Australian Church. Jenni’s talk sparked energetic
conversation around the dinner tables. Later in the evening she
fielded responses and questions from the floor.
The Dinner is supported by sponsorship from many businesses. In
