Preparations for Catalyst Clemente Program
Planning for the
Catalyst Clemente program to begin in Newcastle has been
underway over the last 18 months. This week saw
potential students and community agencies coming
together for an Information sharing session on Nov 17 (see
Photo) in preparation for commencement on March 9
2009. The key partners with Australian Catholic
University are Sisters of St Joseph, Lochinvar and
Mission Australia with the strong support of Catholic
Care and the Catholic School Office. The first unit to
be taught at the Catholic Care Centre in Hunter St
Newcastle will be Introduction to Ethics. For full

On
Saturday November 8,
Josephite Associates from Sydney and the Central Coast
as well as Newcastle and Tamworth, visited Lochinvar to
learn more of the history of Josephite life and mission
in this diocese.

Sr Carmel Markham
Our dear Sister, Carmel Markham,
died peacefully on Sunday morning, 2 November 2008 in St
Joseph's Nursing Home, Sandgate. Her

to St Clare's High School, Taree
Early in August, the additions to St
Clare's were opened and blessed by Bishop Michael, and a
Memorial Garden was dedicated to the Sisters of St
Joseph who had taught at the school. Various buildings

Death of Sr. Miriam Nicey
Our
dear Sr.
Miriam died peacefully in Concord Hospital on
5th August 2008. Miriam was born 102 years ago in
Denman.
Her funeral was held at Lochinvar on August 12th. Her

Jean Marie died suddenly on the morning of 31st
July at the Elizabeth Gates Nursing Home, Singleton.
